Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks & Wildlife Foundation (ASRPWF)

Above and Beyond Grant

WHO:

May be a great opportunity for rural based Alberta coaches can cater to urban based coaches as well. This grant is designed for coaches who find themselves in unique situations and are experiencing unusual circumstances, i.e. apprenticing, geographic isolation, or are disadvantaged. 

HOW MUCH?

Up to $2000, offered only once in a lifetime

CRITERIA:  
Completion of Introduction to Competition Part A and Part B
Member in good standing with Skate Canada: Alberta-NWT/Nunavut
A permanent Alberta resident
 
 
Applicants must outline a project or purpose for which the grant is required. The project or purpose should be innovative, unique and beneficial to many individuals. Extensive reporting and budgeting will be required. Applications are accepted twice a year, May and October 15th. More information can be found on the Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks and Wildlife website and here.
 

Athletics Alberta

Professional Development Grants 

WHO:

This grant is available to women only. The purpose of this grant is to upgrade the coach’s certification level and education. This will help coaches cover the costs of seminars and conferences. 

CRITERIA:

Woman
NCCP certified Level 3 and an approved Level 4/5 candidate

 
The application will include a coaching resume, in depth learning objectives, a proposed activity outline, a letter of support from the national sport organization and identification of how the applicant will use this grant to promote women in coaching. More information can be found on the Athletics Alberta website and here. The deadline is fast approaching, January 31, 2012.
